For Referrers
Specialist Breast Imaging & Assessment
Canberra Breast provides specialist breast ultrasound, biopsy and breast imaging assessment — working in collaboration with referring GPs, surgeons and imaging providers. Where a mammogram is required, we coordinate it with our imaging partners for same-day assessment, with both studies reported together by the same subspecialist radiologist. Forward a single referral and we will take care of the rest.

Specialist breast ultrasound
Performed and interpreted by a subspecialist breast radiologist.
Ultrasound-guided biopsy
Core biopsy with clip insertion available. Biopsy can often be performed at the same visit as ultrasound.
Clip insertion
Marker placement to identify a biopsy site or tumour location for future surgical planning.
Review of outside imaging
Review and reporting of mammograms and breast imaging performed elsewhere.
Second opinions
Subspecialist review of complex or discordant findings.
Specialist breast imaging assessment
Radiologist-led consultation including discussion of findings and care coordination.
For patients requiring a mammogram, we coordinate booking with our imaging partners so the mammogram and ultrasound are performed on the same day and reported together by our radiologist — see referral pathways below.
Patient information: breast ultrasound, breast biopsy, and symptoms after a normal mammogram.
