Canberra Breast provides specialist breast ultrasound, biopsy and breast imaging assessment — working in collaboration with referring GPs, surgeons and imaging providers.

Specialist breast ultrasound
Performed and interpreted by a subspecialist breast radiologist.
Ultrasound-guided biopsy
Core biopsy with clip insertion available. Biopsy can often be performed at the same visit as ultrasound.
Clip insertion
Marker placement to identify a biopsy site or tumour location for future surgical planning.
Review of outside imaging
Review and reporting of mammograms and breast imaging performed elsewhere.
Second opinions
Subspecialist review of complex or discordant findings.
Specialist breast imaging assessment
Radiologist-led consultation including discussion of findings and care coordination.
We do not offer mammography. For patients requiring a mammogram, we collaborate with external imaging providers — see referral pathways below.

How to refer
We accept referrals written on any imaging provider referral form. Please include the relevant clinical history and indication, and note any prior imaging and where it was performed.

Clinical correlation
Findings correlated with history, prior imaging, and pathology where available.

Fees & Billing
Imaging is bulk billed. A specialist assessment fee applies to all appointments.

When to consider referring
- Breast symptoms requiring ultrasound assessment — lump, asymmetry, nipple discharge, pain
- Patients requiring biopsy or clip insertion
- Complex or discordant imaging findings
- Review of mammograms performed elsewhere
- Diagnostic uncertainty — second opinion or correlation review
